Ummm, Lorde strains on a F#4 and can support a E3, she has the passaggio of a mezzo
Chaka has the metallic quality of a dramatic and is a mezzo, she most definitely does not have the bright girlish sound of soprano let alone a lyric.
And while Beyonce ***** on Gaga in mix, agility, breath support ect Gaga takes the lows with ease. Her projection on low notes is surprising
Just because Lorde has a hard time singing high notes doesn't mean she is a low voice; she just sucks. She most certainly has the youthful, girlish sound of a light-lyric. And E3 is not really an impressive low, even for a woman.
Beyoncé's lower range is spectacular. (She can sing down to B2 and A2 with ease.) "Halo", "Ghost", "Rocket", "Partition", "Mine" - excellent examples!
Chaka is not a mezzo. See "I'm Every Woman" and "Through the Wire". Her voice soars in its upper chest register, it doesn't sit low. And I disagree, it sounds very bright and girly to me ("Sweet Thing") It's not even very large in weight either. A regular-sized lyric voice often misconstrued to be larger because of her belty, shreiky singing style - like Kelly.
Not every soprano voice sounds youthful and girly either - Jill Scott and Patti LaBelle don't sound like that at all. Have you heard of dramatic soprano Jessye Norman?
A dramatic mezzo would be Anastacia or Tina Turner. Listen to "Same Song" by Ana or "River Deep Mountain High" by Tina. Their voices have that kind of metallic, cavernous quality and dark sound.
And not every singer with a steely, metallic quality to their voice is necessarily dramatic. A lot of Gospel and R&B singers just sing that way stylistically. Ledisi has a really grating, steely sound to her voice but her volume output is not dramatic in size at all.
Umm Lana is an obvious soprano to me. Her voice is the epitome of youthful and girly. Them two are not intermediate or transitioning voices, at least I don't think. Just really untrained and frankly untalented sopranos.

Um, yes it kinda does. Your voice type is all about where your voice type sits, where it is most colourful and its natural transitions..An untrained soprano should not be straining an F#4 it's way too low and should be within their comfort zones. And yes an unsupported E3 is unimpressive, however a supported E3 is quite hard for a Soprano let alone an untrained one, most untrained soprano's and quite a few trained ones can't even support an A3. You're acting like range = support in lower notes when it doesn't. With Gaga her projection in the lower notes is easily better, even though Beyonce's supported range is wider.
I know about dramatics and output, hence why I was comparing Chaka's upper register to Vanessa(An Falcon, aka a dramatic with the ease of a soprano in her upper register) and Anastasia. Chaka does have a large volume much larger than a lyric voice type, not to mention her voice blossoms in the Mezzo range specifically and her passagi match the mezzo fach as well.
It's not all about where your voice "sits" or experiences the passagi; the tone color is the most definitive factor and Lorde's voice is certainly the color of a soprano - to me at least. And again, you can't say she isn't a soprano just because she strains F#4. That could very well be a technical issue - probably is: she's not a great singer and her voice just is not darkly-colored enough to be called a mezzo - to me.
Idk what to tell you about the size of Chaka's voice. I once thought it was at least medium-sized too until someone (a certain Nigerian Whitney stan - you may have heard of him ) told me her voice was still light-lyric in weight despite her large volume capacity. It was never a question in my mind that she was a soprano though. Do you have any videos to share? I swear, her voice is high-set and bright-sounding and I really do not know what you mean.
What are your opinions on Katy's head voice since y'all are experts? I think it's stunning, because it has this utterly smooth texture with no tension whatsoever and she is surprisingly agile. And she has demonstrated the ability to go from full or mixed voice into head voice smoothly. What other pop girls utilize it as much as she does (not really in her belty singles though) ?

Actually, where your voice sits is your placement aka your "sits" is the biggest thing, your voice type is all about were you have the most ease. LIke I said, she mostly likely going to develope into a Mezzo-Soprano just from where her passagi are. It's shouldn't be an technical issue, she isn't Xtina and tries to bring her chest voice up too high. Colour isn't everything, Katy Perry sounds like a Mezzo but it actually a full lyric, Amy Lee sounds like an Soprano but is actually an Mezzo.
I'm confused about what you mean with her volume capacity, it's much larger then even a full lyric let alone Spinto? Okay here's some comparisons to do, here is Sohyang a Spinto Soprano compare her to Vanessa Amorosi(A Dramatic soprano in her upper register)from E5 as it's the best indication of difference as Soprano's will start to "bloom" around there, can you hear the similarity in brightness and ease. Then Compare Anastasia(Dramatic Mezzo) to Chaka from E5 again and you can hear the darkness and an almost husky whine. Afterwards Compare Sohyang's lower register(B3 down) to Chaka, Anastasia and Vanessa and tell me you can't here the difference between them?
If Ariana got herself together she'd be a beast. The fact that she can belt a Bb5 is pretty ridiculous. We just need to work on that tension.
That jaw tension really ****s any resonance or freedom from her voice, she's just going to get worse as she's know considers the huskiness essential

I can only remember Katy using falsetto, Beyonce's the only current pop girl who utilises her head voice.
If I remember correctly I think Katy's falsetto is relaxed till about F#5
I kind of hate how some people are using the vocal registers, strengths, and weaknesses to 'stan fight' as well. Like sure, some vocal classifications are stronger in certain areas than others, but that's what makes them unique, embrace it.
I'm actually a baritone but my vocal range falls between bass-baritone. I do kind of wish I was a tenor, but at the same time I want to take advantage of what I have and become a really powerful singer. Does anyone have any good recommendations for baritone singers that I could listen to and peep their technique and style?

Depends: classical, pop music, or whatever sounds good?
