However I don't believe in judging the entire group for the actions of a few. The Hive is not fuming. The Navy is not fuming. Some are. Some aren't.

That's a fair comparison, but there is a key difference which is that a Met Gala look is 100% about the image. A Superbowl Performance is 100% about what happens live onstage. Beyoncé killed it, and thus it remains iconic and perfect as you say. The meme came after the fact. If the Performance was just Beyoncé coming out and standing there, posing and the images were turned into a meme, the result would have been different.

And the Meat Dress was tongue-in-cheek to begin with, so any meme about it only furthered it's agenda.
