Spotify Charts Archive

Something that I can do easily now with the new archive is calculate weekly stream totals for a song.

For example, here are SYA's for the past 2 weeks (now that there are 2 weeks' worth of data in the archive):

I hope SYA can hold off TQ on ODS. At least SYA has the video streaming lead to stay on top of the HSS chart should it stumble on the ODS chart. From what I have heard, TQ appears to have peaked on the video side of streaming (this not from me, because I don't even know how to access that data). TQ made no streaming gains this past week, so SYA has enough of an overall streaming lead it could hang onto #1 at HSS should it lose its advantage at ODS, just like UF did for two weeks after losing ODS to Sugar (1 wk).

The Spotify totals for this week are in the archive now? I'll check them out later to see how the songs at least at the top changed from last week to this week in streams. Maybe I should build an archive for the five airplay formats I track, since mine are quicker to read and already numbered by audience for those who don't want or need all of the extra data on the full Mediabase Charts. That gives me something to think about, even though I personally read all of the data on Kworb's Charts, even for the formats I don't track.

Okay I spent an hour on Bing looking for the website that would get me to Soundscan's registration page, where we could track both streaming and sales numbers Billboard uses each week. I didn't see actual costs, but hearsay was that only the major labels can afford subscriptions, and that estimated membership costs are thousands of dollars a week. I remember many years ago being able to track down the website that would allow me to purchase a subscription, and at the time it was $100/month. However, that was before the 2010-1 time frame when I-Hype says there was a major scandal with the information getting out. The only registration forms I found were if you were a band and wanted to register your barcode so Soundscan would track the CD's sales. Someone else may have better luck, but I've spent all the time I want to on that project today.

I haven't put any weekly streaming totals in the archive yet, that was just an example showing that I can indeed calculate them fairly easily.

I'm very busy for the rest of tonight and all day tomorrow, but if I have time on Tuesday I will try to calculate weekly totals for a few songs.

No I meant you had already input the daily totals in so we could tabulate the weekly totals. I'm not asking you to do more than you've already done. I'm sorry I wasn't more clear.

It seems like Spotify numbers are always lower on Monday mornings.

They are. Apparently people don't listen as much on Sundays, which makes sense. I know I don't, because Sunday is the day I get most of my homework done.
