Sony Emails EXPOSE thoughts about Zac Efron

After graduating from the all-singing, all-dancing Disney days of High School Musical, Zac Efron released a series of comedies aimed at adults, from That Awkward Moment to the more recent - and super-successful - Neighbors with Seth Rogen.
But did the Hollywood heavies making the movies actually think he was funny?
Apparently not, according to the latest round of Sony emails made public my Wikileaks this week, which show executives, including now-former Sony co-chairwoman Amy Pascal, don't think the actor has what it takes to be a leading funnyman.
The emails were exchanged last September, according to Entertainment Tonight.
'I think guys in my generation don't really look to Zac Efron as a comedy star,' Sony Creative Executive Adam North wrote to the email chain, that included Pascal and three others.
North added that last year's frat house comedy Neighbors 'still felt very much like Seth (Rogen) and Rose Byrne's movie'.
In a case of weird timing, the emails even discussed Bad Grandpa, the new Efron-Robert DeNiro comedy that is currently being filmed in Georgia.
Lauren Abrahams, Columbia Pictures' VP of Programming, said the film's 'script is lousy'.
In a separate email she said that Efron is 'best when he is the straight-ish guy tossed into funny, absurdist situations'.
In replying to the discussion, Pascal wrote: 'Couldn't agree more.'
In the end, Sony passed on Bad Grandpa.
Pascal resigned from her post at Sony in the aftermath the major email hack, which was linked to the film giant's controversial comedy The Interview, about a fictional assassination of Kim Jong-Un.
