The VERY first one I ever joined (In this past October) was one of these, and I didn't notice until around January because I hadn't experienced other RP's yet. Woo, lord, looking back, it is so CLIQUEY and the admins are the stars and spend hours on Skype wetting themselves over their ships (which were all poorly developed) but IGNORE everyone else
Rick followed me to that one, too, but we both dropped in February.
I'm currently in two town RP's, which may seem a little dumb at first, but they're the most open-ended and I enjoy the realistic setting. Rick's in both of them, too. I'm considering dropping the one I linked above, though.

ugh, you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about then. As you become more familiar with the roleplay world, you'll be able to quickly pick up on sites that already have some pre-formed cliques. I've even seen some where they were already weeks deep in interacting with each other on their character profiles, before group acceptance happens.

It's completely off-putting.
and don't even get me started on how poorly developed their ships, and pretty much entire character dynamics, are. "omg, Harry Styles as a bad ass that has his geeky friend, Niall Horan, hook him up with the captain of the football team, Louis Tomlinson. asjk, omg babes!" Ch.
Yes, town RPs are my favourite, as well! Especially when they have a little umbrella plot going on, like a murdered student that left behind notes about everyone or a seniors scavenger hunt. They really give you a lot of room to develop your character, which is my favourite part about the whole roleplay experience.
It's been a while since I've joined a RP that I've been able to commit to.

Third time could have been a charm, though.
but he fact that the only games we've played together were never renewed for another season, thus not giving you any chances for redemption.

I ask Staryu about Hogwarts all the time, but he doesn't seem at all interested in the idea of hosting another game.
