At that age kids really look up to and are influenced by their teachers, this shouldn't happen.
Mmm nothing wrong with a Christian upbringing. But then again, in this day and age they could find themselves being taught by an imam next grade. So yes, maybe it's better to keep religion out of the school.

Oh I could list a billion things that are utterly TERRIBLE about a Christian upbringing. Personally I am so glad to be out of the clutches of that religion.
Bible culture in the US just blows my mind Literally can't even imagine situations like this here in the UK.
Being a Northeasterner I can't fathom it either (it only happens in the South). I can't imagine how angry I would get if incidents like this occurred here in Boston, because I'm already furious that they happen in the South.
Threats are absolutely never acceptable and, as a Christian, I think they go against everything that the religion is meant to stand for.
That said, this woman definitely made a much bigger deal out of this than there needed to be. Let me get this straight, her son is traumatized because.... He grabbed a bible from the teacher? (And I'm not asking illegal, this woman is acting like the boy is f-cking scarred for life because he came into contact with a bible) I'd also like to point out that, though never justified, the threats aren't coming to her because she's an atheist. They're coming to her because she jumped into this and basically made a huge deal out of something that, HONESTLY, she could've just ignored and moved on with. While the teacher should've respected separation of Church and State, handing out bibles won't traumatize anyone and this woman had to know there's be backlash for what she did. She was really more interested in squashing religion than how people would treat her son
In translation, I think everyone is in the wrong except the children who don't know any better
