Had to log in to warn certain members of The Hive (who never know how to ****ing act) ...
... and to get that Jennifer Lopez fan together.
The notion that JLLNJM (her full name) is on the level of Beyoncé is nonsensical.
Let's leave acting out of it. Bey is no one's actress ... but then again, is Jennifer? (Twenty plus years. No Oscar nomination. No Tony nomination. No Emmy nomination. No critics awards. No festival awards. Acting is her primary job, btw.)
Let's compare them on other levels. On a 0-10 scale.
Dancing. Let's, FOR ARGUMENT'S SAKE, say Bey is a 7. Jennifer's an eight. Not that big of a difference.
Singing. Let's, again, say Bey is around a nine.
Jennifer is 1.5. I am being generous. She has always been, and will always be, a TERRIBLE singer.
The "difference" between their dancing ability is nowhere near the canyon sized gap between their natural vocal talent. So, DanceAgain, there is no way that Jennifer can be a "better all-rounder" when she FAILS on one of the only two levels you can judge them.
You've been blessed.
Jennifer is as good of a dancer as Beyonce is a singer. Beyonce is as good of a singer who dances as Jennifer is a singer.
Jennifer is as good of a dancer as Beyonce is a singer. Beyonce is as good of a singer who dances as Jennifer is a singer.
That's not really true though.
Beyoncé is a more than capable dancer, whereas Jennifer is just a capable singer.
And even if that were true, the thing is that dancing is merely a sub-section to their careers. Both are regarded as singers, and so you can't really say that J.Lo is on Beyoncé's level if the one thing she is required to do well, is not on Beyoncé's level. Beyonce's voice is strong enough that if she wanted to have a Kelly Clarkson or Adele type persona, she could because as a singer she can take songs to the next level. Jennifer cannot.
You know, we should probably consult the dictionary because one of us doesn't seem to know what dance means. It could be me but:
Dance
- move rhythmically to music, typically following a set sequence of steps.
That's not to mention that a lot of Beyoncé's dance is very heavily influenced in African dance, which does in fact use a lot of booty. If you want to say that African dance is not dancing, go ahead but you're going to face some trouble there.
You're foolish to think you can use a genetic dictionary to define any form of art. Try going to the website of a dance studio and see how true dancers define "dance", then hit my quote button.

LOL no. Beyonce is hailed (and deservedly so) as the female MJ in that department. Single Ladies and Crazy in love contain iconic dance moves that are just pop culture moments. You can't say the same thing for JLo, who basically is a less agile version of the more talented, Janet J.
She is a biT overrated though. She's good at performing and singing. She's not the best at either. She's a A student who has learned from the best..she has perfected her skills over the years and that's great. But she lacks in other departments that the GREATS excelled at.

I'm flabbergasted. You think Beyonce is in the same echelon of dance as MJ? The pinnacle of dance? This tells me you don't know anything about MJ as a dancer. He was more than just iconic steps. Beyonce is not.

Actually what is foolish is to expect Beyoncé to live up to the level of dance that professional dancers who have trained their whole lives are at. Not one pop girl is at that level and no, not even J.Lo.
Dance comes in many different forms, but I guess you don't believe that as you completely ignored my comments about African dance. There is more to the word that ballet, lyrical, jazz or whatever these dance studios train people in and it's foolish to be so close-minded about an art form.

Sure, she may lack things the greats had, but this is a new generation with a new set of critics and a new set of standards and peers.

Never once did anyone mention that she is to live up to the expectations of true dancers. I said look up the definition of dance from a dance studio. Yes dance comes in various styles, but ballet is the backbone of dance, not just as a style but as a technique (lines, posture, space, etc).
And just for kicks and giggles, J. Lo is a professional dancer.

Ballet is not the backbone of dance. How can it be when so many cultures from around the world have been dancing for thousands of years and have never been in contact with ballet? If you're talking about a lot of western dance, then sure. But there is more to the world than Europe.
Anyway this is completely irrelevant considering that the whole "Beyoncé only shakes her booty" is a myth and a tired shade, as there is not one performance that relies solely on Beyoncé standing on stage shaking her butt.
I mean it's part of pop culture now that you CAN'T criticize her which is obsessive in any nature. BUt Bey definitely has the talent and success to back the praise up.
Really? I can't with the JLo arguments. As an overall entertainer, she fails to deliver, where Bey doesn't. It's GREAT she can dance, but when a mic comes attached, something should be more prominent then the other and it's not. She simply can't sing. And that in itself is enough to make Bey better then her. There's no doubt in my mind that Bey could do the same damn routines as JLo all the while actually hitting all her notes.
Again, Bey is very underrated in certain areas. But because the amount of praise she receives keeps certain posters oppressed, I'll take it for what it's worth.
Why hasn't anyone posted any valid people who are underrated?
And I don't mean relatively unknowns because their position as being unknown makes them underrated by definition, but people who are on the same level as Beyoncé professionally and have more talent than her but not the respect she has?
