I actually agree with the bolded but not so much the rest. I don't necessarily think that the entire album is made for ATRL, but it definitely feels like she has boxed herself in just a bit to fit into this 'pop Ciara' mold that I don't really even know if the world is ready for or really wants.
The Harmony Samuel tracks, outside of the lead single, are just... I don't know. I really loved him as a producer, but his contributions to this album outside of "I Bet" are just

. This is the same man who amazed me with "The Way", Fantasia's album, Kelly x Bey x Michelle's "You've Changed" + the additional tracks he did for Kelly as well as Michelle. I'm so disappointed.
And then the urban-leaning material lacks the same edge that the ones on
Ciara had... Sure she talks some good **** on "Jackie (B.M.F.)", but it doesn't compare to "I'm Out", "Sophomore", "Super Turnt Up", etc. There are good lyrics here, good production there, but rarely to they both mix, esp. in a way that's superior than any of the
Ciara songs.
The Luke songs are probably my favorite, "Lullaby" especially. This album is a let down for me though.
Ciara made me a fan because she really delivered both balance and quality... Really, the only thing that
Jackie has over
Ciara is that it is so personal and you can tell she was heavily involved with the lyrical direction of the album.
