omg are you serious? P!nk made those awards watchable. People loved her performance, thats why the sales for So What shot up and she got the #1 spot on Hot100.
Why would a person who received an award and said a "thank you" a couple of times would be a highlight of the show? maybe for her fans, but not for general public imo.

I know. It makes no sense but the one who said "thank you" still was the highlight of the show and you have to deal with this fact even if it bothers you so much and ruins your life.

There's something you're not getting. P!nk doesn't have star power. She's an incredible artist but she doesn't steal any shows, period. MTV was promoting the hell out of Britney and everybody tuned in for her. Just because Britney didn't perform doesn't mean she wasn't the highlight of the night. What do you think people were talking about the next day? Not P!nk's performance, not Christina's performance, but Britney's return to prominence. You may have liked P!nk's performance the most but that doesn't mean it was what was remembered.

I got a feeling that you are talking about P!nk's star power generally, and it might be right in case of the US, but please remember that she's the biggest female artist worldwide right now, so her star power is undisputed in Europe, or Australia.
But if you are talking specifically about the VMAs...yes the show was promoted mainly with the help of the other artists, but P!nk was definately the highlight of the show, and its not just my opinion. But if you were thinking that britney's achievement was the highlight of the show after coming on ATRL, I understand you, this board is really occupied by some delusional Britney fans.
