When you came out to your parents, or friends, were they surprised or did they kind of suspect you were gay? I hear a lot of stories of families knowing, and seeing signs from when their children are young that they might be gay, and that parents usually know but choose to ignore it.

They didn't have a clue. My poor mom was shocked for days and kept saying she had no idea, how did I keep it that well, how I survived school being in our ME neighborhood. My dad was like, keep your legs closed or I'll shoot you in the head. I was like OK dad I am not one of those type of gays anyway. I hated it when my first date kept telling me I wasn't gay, bitch why do you think I met with you.

Most of the "signs" are stereotypes though. Like for example "I knew you were gay because you played with dolls", it sounds kind of dumb IMO, you're gay if you like a person of the same sex and that's it. Liking dolls, pink, pop music etc won't make you gay...

Wearing female clothes and makeup won't make you gay either, like for example a male to female transgender who likes women, she's still straight.

No one knew, a few people actually thought I was joking. I played sports, dressed tragically and have probably the most monotoned voice ever, so I can see why, but bitches saw how good I was a just dance. They should have known.

My dad knows and a few close friends because I don't think that I have to tell everyone, but my dad was like "it's okay if you are gay as long as you are happy but try to not show it in public because I dont want people to attack you and if a guy hurts you I will kick his ass"
