Romans kept records of Jesus. I don't see why they would make up records of a martyr they were never here for

Also, the Bible was not written to be one story. It was structured by dozens of books written by various authors who weren't even present during the time of the events. Scholars had to sit & fish through each book to see which one fit the story they wanted portrayed.
