Isn't that reason enough? There's a good reason why they don't count them

This doesn't make sense. The last time we got the sales for UC it was already over 2 million copies.

Club sales do count toward the overall album totals. However, they were not factored into weekly Soundscan charts.

I have the source next to it. They reported it, but if you have a more accurate one, then I'll replace ofcourse.

There's a good reason why Soundscan didn't count Music Club sales. My mom said she used to subscribe to one of those in the 90's -- you pay for a subscription, then you choose really random discounts from music the artists under the label have. Like they would just deep discount albums such as 'buy these 10 albums for $1'. They had different deals going on, and they were really cheap since you were subscribing and paying a fee to the label. I'm sure Soundscan didn't count them becase they were being sold really cheap, a bunch of albums were sold at 1 price, and you'd purchase them through ordering in mail which was probably impossible for Soundscan to track.

I was a member too, me being probably close to your mom's age. I'm a generation X man, so I'm a generation ahead of most on here. However, the biggest titles by the biggest stars weren't eligible for the deep discounts, as they sold enough on their own at full price. Obviously, there was no way for Soundscan to add these sales in.
The same can be said when artists went on HSN & QVC (yes, they really did that) to sell their CDs there. The sales counted towards the overall total for RIAA and the total album sales, but did not and really could not reflect on weekly Soundscan charts. I believe the list of BMGs top selling CDs is included in the CMO link I shared. I'd have to look up Columbia House, as the article didn't mention those sales.

Yeah there's no way the Under Construction one is correct, it's definitely sold 2 million+

Yeah UC opened with 259k at the beginning of Holiday season and probably sold 1 million before 2003. Red flags when taking in Work It/Gossip Folks success.
As of April 2012.

Pink Friday has been on the chart continuously since it debuted. (This week it jumps from #102 to #84.) The album has sold 1,815,000 copies. Only two albums by female hip-hop artists have sold as well. The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill leads the pack with sales of 7,106,000. Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott's 2002 album Under Construction is in second place, with sales of 2,125,000.

Lady Gaga Born this Way 2,300,000
I thought its sales would be higher. And some monsters dare to say BEYONCÉ was frontloaded.

I never knew this thread existed.
Good work, iHype.
The only thing I would suggest is adding 'US' to the title in case any members want to jump to the numbers.
