They are underrated.

A model job is not easy. There's a ton of pressure, moving around, lots of bad feedback, shut doors, living in poor places with other models, being broke because you have to pay for your traveling. Not to mention that the paychecks they get are horrible.

It's only good if you're a supermodel or somewhat famous. Most models struggle a lot to make a living off of this job, only to be disposed of after a certain age or being forgotten if you failed to leave a mark.

And also, posing and looking good in pictures is not as easy as it sounds. You have to move naturally, think of poses, act in the situation, find your light and think of the angles all while being aware of your photographer and sorroundings/theme.

There's a lot of misconceptions about modeling.

I wish I could get paid so much just to look pretty, strike a pose, and keep in shape. Try fishing for a living in rough, icy waters in old raggedy boats.

It ain't just about having good looks. People are so narrow minded. Most high fashion models dont even have conventional beauty. People in the streets would probably call them ugly.

Fashion photography is gorgeous, and an art in itself. So much ignorance, people dont really understand how it all works.

Models arent picked for being good looking. They are picked because their looks dont overshadow or outshine the clothes and they can fit into completely different looks simply with make up and styling.

there is an art to being able to work the lighting camera and action. However if these people were on the streets no one would give them a second glance.

Creative directors and photographers are really underrated. Models are so replaceable, there are so many people who look good and can pose for the cam. It doesn't take much.

Right!! They act like there aren't many other blue-collar jobs out there where you work MUCH harder but get paid MUCH less. It's as obnoxious as certain celebrities failing that $29/week challenge, thinking they're going to show struggling people how its done. And that's if you're in the US. I couldn't handle even more dangerous and grueling jobs in some other countries.

Exactly this. Successful models who are able to maintain their own wellbeing as well as a successful career do not get enough credit.

True. Like, they're whining but forgetting how much more privileged they are compared to billions of others around the world, let alone millions in the states. I mean it might not be as easy as it looks, but it's a hell of a lot easier than many, many, MANY other jobs out there.
