I think models are underrated. They make our world more beautiful and they deserve more praise and celeb status. I think beatiful people's impact is underrated. They should be more celebrated than singers and actors or at least on the same level. They work just as hard as singers, actors etc and their image is something that has a good impact and influences people to be more presentable, likeable and fashionable and their make our society more beautiful.
The suffering and abuse they have to endure is probably underrated. The industry is ruthless. I got spotted a few times, I will not be dialling any #s until every part of myself is on fleek. I wouldn't be able to handle the criticism, they'll tap into my dormant anger issues
I can appreciate that modelling is a lot harder than people think, and I agree that there is an art for it, but they're beautiful and rich so... about equal.
If they're suffering what would you say about construction workers???????
Furthermore, with the help of social media and just like actors and singers, they have celebrity status. I've seen the checks they get and as someone who works backstage and does chereo for fashion shows they make more than they need for a 2 minute walk.
Both, the business is cut-throat for them. But at the same time many of them become conceited and hold their noses high in the midst of others. I have a friend who modeled for American eagle and as much as I love him, he’s a cocky little ****.
Y'all don't realize how hard of a job it really is until you actually work in that industry. You need thick skin and even then it's not enough since so many people are trying to become a model these days thanks to instagram/twitter etc.
But I appreciate them for what they do since they are literally selling themselves/image to the world to be judged.
I think the OP could have done much better explaining as to why models are underrated.
Many times models have to offer themselves for sex or get sexually assaulted within the business to get a spot and for castings. It's truly sad. As well you have many people wanting to take advantage of them, they are under SCRUTINY for weight loss and fitness. They have travel very much. And some models you do think get payed a lot. DON'T. I say it's a very tough business. But you'd have to take criticism with a grain of salt.

Yeah both of these. But I think that's what the OP might have meant..maybe
Overrated. I don't know why some people try so hard to be models. I mean, I thought I could be one, but it's unrealistic and going to school is a better idea. It's something that probably isn't worth it because you're probably just gonna be able to work for less than a decade and go through a bunch of unnecessary criticism over your looks. That's funny though - you're signed to an agency because you're supposedly "above average" in some way when it comes to looks, yet some clients scalp you for not looking a certain way.
