I somewhat agree.
Performing in public in such a way that is considered outside the social norms will obviously attract attention, a lot of it negative. People are often afraid of things that challenge their static world view and instead of trying to understand it, they aim to either change it or eliminate it. This is nothing new and while is rather sad, can't be faulted when it's pursued. You can't parade a piece of meat in front of a dog and then get mad when he tries to eat it.
However, I do think it's an interesting depiction of mob mentality, and "the bigger the crowd, the more negligible the individual". As the crowd got bigger, and time went on, people were getting more and more confident with their attacks. Was it because their previous attacks failed to cease Signe's actions so they felt the need to increase intensity? Or was the increase because they felt like the crowd's reactions were positive towards them? It's also interesting to note no one helped her, which plays true into the theory that a person is more likely to avoid helping someone when more people are present. It's a scary scenario to watch play out - to know that to feel completely safe in life you should never try to stand out too much. Conformity is the key to safety.
Don't get me wrong though, I think the actions throughout the video are completely disgusting, especially the assaults at the end. It makes me sad to watch such hate spread, even if provoked.
