But Spotify was launched in October 2008. That's nearly 7 years ago.
Tidal was released in late 2014, and only officially launched last month.
How many streams do you think Spotify had by Decemeber 2008? A million?

You guys keep comparing Spotify's beginnings to Tidal's as if they're similar. Spotify showed promise from launch, and expanded from that. Tidal hit the ground face first day one. And has only been digging itself six feet deeper, a day, since.
I'm all for optimism, but what exactly can you see turning the tides, no pun intended, besides you being a stan of one of the artists attached to the service? I haven't been among the haters bashing Tidal, but the statistical reports are alarming and really cannot be continually dismissed by wrongly comparing it to other starter services.
I support its premise, more pay for acts. Don't mind the cost either, though I'm not really in it for the quality. But it hasn't served up anything others haven't done before it. On top of that, failed exclusives and marketing just doesn't pave a bright road for it.
