As others have said, your vote shouldn't be based solely upon whether someone is for or against gay rights.
Many of you (including myself) have been applauding Hillary Clinton's run for presidency and while she is now for gay rights, she never used to be, she's actually faced criticism in the past for how she has responded to the issue of same sex marriage.

Thatcher was prime minister a long time ago, things have moved on now, you can't judge the entirety of her persona due to this one thing. Yes it is important that we have a prime minister and a leader that believes in equal rights for us all but we have to understand things were different 30-40 years ago. You don't know what her stance on it all would be in the current day and age if she were still alive.

Anyway as others have said, Madonna hasn't posted this saying she agrees on every single one of Thatcher's policies, so criticising her for that is ridiculous (as is the poster who compared Thatcher to hitler...)

Also we should just never discuss politics on here - nobody is ever going to agree. Sure Thatcher did some awful things, but she also accomplished many things that deserve to be celebrated, she worked hard for the working class and really helped out those who wanted to work from the bottom
into something great. I can't see why people always have a problem with this - i'm not saying we should ignore the poor, but it is also unfair to disregard the conservatives just because they believe in the rights of the wealthy, it isn't about 'keeping the rich rich' it's about applauding the people who have strived hard to get to where they are financially.
How is it fair to pick a man or woman who has worked extremely hard to be in the career they are and then tell them they deserve to be taxed 40-50% just because they earn more? When they have worked incredibly hard to get there?

The same applies to Thatcher's policies (or some of them) just because she fought for the businesses and the self-employed does not mean she was an evil character, she just recognised
hard work. I'm not saying I agree with everything she did, she made big mistakes, yes. But all of you acting as though Madonna is supporting a terrorist or a massive figure of hate is absolutely ridiculous.

Some of ya'll are so extra... do you really care or do you jut need something to entertain your lives with? I don't care about Madonna either and I'm not at all offended by her taking a quote from someone else and applying it to herself. It doesn't mean she agrees with all her policies. I wasn't aware of the anti-gay speech until today and I doubt Madonna knows about it either. That's not what Maggie is known for.

I'm not surprised that most of the Brits coming for Maggie are from the cities they are. Sure, Maggie made mistakes, and she was sometimes... um a **** (to be straight up about it). I don't agree with everything she did or every view she has, but she's a respectable woman. My mother met her in the past, but we still vote Labour. We can at least show some respect, especially since Maggie is no longer with us. Check yourselves please.

Mess at you guys voting solely on how gay-friendly someone is. Margaret Thatcher SAVED this ****ing country. She was bad for women? You think being the first female PM was bad for women? You think showing men how women can be a badass too isn't a good thing? She shut down the overly powerful unions who were ruining the economy. She helped bring the stock market into the modern age, allowing loads of people to become richer than they could've ever dreamed. She helped millions of people get on the property ladder. She led to the end of a failing industry crippling our country. She basically shaped our entire economic and social future. don't y'all ****ing DARE come for her based on a small issue in the grand scheme of things. She hardly threatened y'all, she didn't make it illegal, she was just reflecting the views of voters at the time, as any good politician would do, she didn't lead to persecution of gays, she didn't round them up like Hitler (who the **** compared her to him, the ignorace), she is the most important Briton since Clement Attlee, and to demonise her for her views is nothing but sexism under the name of anti-homophobia.
