HLN will air in May a Kim Kardashian-produced documentary focusing on mental illness, the network said Wednesday. The documentary, #RedFlag debuts May 5 and looks at the debilitating disease’s effect on its victims, families and friends, and suggests ways that social media can serve as a method of outreach, said network officials. - See more at: http://www.multichannel.com/news/con....L7C85b4W.dpuf

“I am blessed to be surrounded by family and friends that are loving and nurturing,” Kardashian said, “but not everyone has that kind of support. 25 percent of adults in America will suffer from a mental illness in their lifetime, and many of them turn to social media to vent their depression, loneliness, and isolation.”
The documentary shines a light on the stories of two young people suffering from mental illness, as both used social media to voice their pain. It will premiere in May, which is Mental Health Awareness Month.
