What does her status as a veteran have to do with anything?
She broke the law, she was detained, she resisted arrest. Hopefully she gets charged with resisting and given a harsher punishment.
Your veteran status does not and should not ever put you above the law. My point still stands that if the roles were reversed the outcome would likely have been very different.
