I generally dislike it (not saying I dislike the people who do it).

I think self-deprecation of one's country is a better approach.

I don't really understand people who take pride in something they can't control.. like country of birth, race, gender, sexuality, economic/social status. Unless that group was marginalized or oppressed then I kinda get it. It creates separate groups and gives people an excuse to discriminate, also it just promotes the military
