News: White woman resists arrest for stealing flag

Basically these students at Valdosta State University put the flag on the ground and were walking over it to protest the systematic racism and police brutality black people face in the United States. Great idea, right?

So this white lady who is actually an Air Force veteran heard about it and snatches the flag, refusing to give it back to the students.

um DUH... they were out of ammo because they had already shot like 10 black people a few hours ago.

It isn't illegal to desecrate the American flag.

Let them do their thing. If they want to spend their time ruining a flag, so be it. Doesn't really change anything in the long run and is pretty stupid, but do your thing.

And I'm just wondering why they are stomping on the symbolism of American freedom to protest Police brutality? It just not connecting with me.

Exactly. It's not like all American citizens are racist or use brute force against others. It's the cops, the people in government having the most impacT. America gives many people opportunities they wouldn't have elsewhere. There may be some problems, but blaming all of America will not help. Get a police flag and stomp on it. Get pictures of government officials and stomp on it. Hell, get a picture of racists and stomp on it. Don't go after all of America.

Or better yet, let's not stomp on objects like they have feelings and write to your local representatives. Bombard them with e-mails, write to people who affect politics or the police department. Make a positive change in your environment. Talk to leaders in your community about police brutality. Volunteer to educate young Americans on racism and its lasting effects. Getting into physical altercations will only lead to more violence on both sides.

The kids did nothing wrong. Legally, they were completely in the right, and the woman deserves to be arrested for STEALING someone else's property and refusing to give it back. Hopefully she gets a more severe punishment for resisting arrest.

Lock her up and use her as an example. Neither your skin color, nor your status as a veteran puts you above the law.

I'm just glad the situation wasn't reversed with the black girl stealing the woman's flag because it definitely would've had a much sadder outcome.

respect for a country that committed genocide on the people who lived on the land before us? respect for a country that enslaved black people and set them "free" without paying them for their labor? respect for a country that established a white supremacist society because of that? respect for a country that wages war on foreign soil for profit?
