Nope, that doesn't make sense because Nick & CCMC are both Britney fans and they've been very clear since day 1 about what happened with BJ and we all know it too whether we'd like to accept it or not.
Those other 2 mixes were made with the raw vocals which they then tuned slightly for a more natural result, instead this particular mix was made with already finished/processed vocals stems as heard on the album mix, that's why this mix sounds different (less natural than the other 2).

Thank you JC!
I believe Nick and I were both very clear regarding the production of our previous mixes (not using the hook vocals on Passenger, etc) and always aimed to present them using the best vocal performances we could. For BMS, however, we did not have at our disposal the recording takes or even the non-edited vocals (Hold On Tight), so we were limited to using the same vocals that were present in the album mix, already pitch corrected and edited to death.
Also it wasn't really a matter of using the "backing vocalist" since the 3 different chorus takes on our mix are the same ones used for the album version! The difference there is that they're all layered on top of each other in addition to harmonies and BGs by Chris Braide and Sia (who does like 8 different lines at the same time), so when you have almost 15 layers of vocals playing simultaneously it's pretty much impossible to tell them apart.
When you listen to the vocals on their own, the low vocal and the higher one are undoubtedly Britney to me. The first one does have, indeed, some "dubious" parts, but you gotta keep in mind extreme Melodyne use can drive a vocal to the point of being so chipumunky it's almost inhuman - and let's be real, Melodyne
was overdone here. Can I tell with 100% certainty whether it's Myah or purely pitch correction artifacts? The vocals were already comped so we never got to hear how they were recorded in the first place, so no. What I
can say is that there's absolutely no file referencing Myah Marie, and they're all accordingly labeled (Britney, Sia, Chris etc), so if she was present I don't see why they'd leave her name out of it for that one song in particular and not the rest - see Alien. As many reservations as we might have about BJ, let's give the woman some credit as well. Plus it's not like any of us are 100% familiar with Myah's voice, right? I for one have never seen anybody spotting the exact
words she filled in on the Passenger verses, for example!
Anyways, thank you all for the comments and I apologize for the huge ass text, but I just wanted to set the record straight - after all we did talk about the other ones so let's talk about this too, right?
