Just saw this post like a week late but wanted to expand on it, lol.
I agree with everything you said, but we have to give Madonna her props too. At least half the female popstars today take cues from Madonna's book and wouldn't exist in their current states without her.
I would say Madonna's influence spans across all types of pop girls, regardless of race or genre.
