I feel like the only fans she is disappointing are the really shortsighted ones. This is for an EP designed to promote her label. It isn't meant to be anything genre defining or futuristic like her albums. I'm enjoying it. It is a cute bop and it still has enough Janelle flavor to the point that it doesn't feel uninspired. It plus the EP will be enough to tide me over until Suite's VI and VII out.
I have no problem with Janelle making this kind of music as long as she's good at it. Judging by this song, she's not. The verses were bad. Also the lighting was criminal.
