BTD had huge hype but still banked on being categorized "indie"/"alternative" so that was kinda of a recipe for disaster. Still one of the most influential albums of the 2010s though

Uh, Born To Die is NOT minimalist. Haynie and all his industrial, reverb-heavy samples are most definitely maximalist and it low key clashes with the aesthetic Lana wants.
