Im 100% sure Star Wars is going to demolish some records this christmas including coming for $1 billion gross in its first WEEK. Mark my words. The buzz for it is outstanding and something I have never seen before.

the lack of box office knowledge in here is brutal! FF7 has been extremely impressive yes, but SW7 will absolutely annihilate it both domestically and worldwide at the box office. and the fact that it is opening right in the thick of the holiday season means it does have a very good chance at topping a billion faster than FF7 (which did so thanks to china's ridiculously expanding movie market). episode 3 did 850 million worldwide a DECADE ago (before latin american and asian markets markets exploded) so i can only imagine how big this will be.

and i highly doubt this will be bad, it seems like everything is shaping up for this to be the perfect recipe. now that VFX are advanced enough to immerse the audience in the film without it feeling like a video game (which the prequels looked like) i think we'll finally get the ultimate star wars!!! so excited all the nostalgia gahhhhh

This will shatter records. Avatar can hide tbh, because if this is gonna get praised by the critics and GP (which I'm not sure about), nothing will stop the globe from going to the cinemas - at least because most people will go for nostalgic reasons.

I remember when I saw the first Star Wars, without clobalisation, without internet, the hype was humongous, you just saw in a magazine the space ship or the sandmen and you knew you have to go.

And I can see that hype again, there are absolutly no bad critics about the new
cast (was different by the prequels) everyone is excited,

I mean it won't make the 1,4 billion in the US (adjusted for inflation) of the first one but 800 mil are not out of reach.

This movie is going to be HUGE. I can't ****ing wait. It might not be the same as when the first movies were released but hopefully I can kind of see what it was like.

Disney spent billions on acquiring the franchise rights to Star Wars. They will only make that back by making Star Wars films that are blockbusters. So Disney will be spending a lot on producing these films and their marketing budgets will be huge. In the long term, Disney will earn fortunes from this franchise.

Disney is gonna make so much bank from owning both Star Wars and Marvel. Talk about cinema box office domination!
