Aguilera is far from country, but with a voice as malleable as hers, she can pass for a song or two. After singing a bit of the tune she did while guesting on Nashville, Xtina joined longtime hitmakers Rascal Flatts for "Riot" from their recent album "Rewind." Aguilera and Gary LeVox trading vocals was the rare unexpected artist pairing that actually worked.
Performances by Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, and a surprisingly fitting duet with Rascal Flatts and Christina Aguilera made the three and a half hour-long program worth the time.
4. Christina Aguilera's Country Debut: The Voice coach went country at this year's ACMs, performing the single "Shotgun," and then transitioning into a performance of "Riot" with Rascal Flatts. She brought her trademark vocals and impeccable rocker style to the stage and totally blew the roof off the place.
Christina Aguilera performed at the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday and if you saw her performance, the only thing you could probably manage to say was wow. And I mean, WOW, that performance was amazing
Despite being out of her comfort zone, Christina didn’t miss a beat in her powerful performance. For the duet, the singers started things off with The Voice judge’s Nashville jam, “Shotgun,” transitioning into Rascal’s “Riot.”
Oh, and let’s not forget to mention that Christina looked absolutely flawless in a floor-length white gown that showcased her amazing curves. She paired the dress with a cropped denim jacket and her hair pulled back into a tight half-ponytail — this girl is absolutely killin’ it!
