This is something that many people seem to do differently, and it seems to be an English/American thing.
I've noticed that in America, people tend to pronounce it like "Moss-COW", like the animal cow. Whereas, in England we say "Moscow", rhyming with Costco.
Russians pronounce it like "Moskva", but when speaking it English they tend to pronounce it the same way the English do.
