That's the great thing about Beyoncé. She is not dependant on genres or a certain look. She is always current without being trend-hopping and her song are always very "Beyoncé" as are her looks, even if she cuts her hair or does whatever, it's not a marketing ploy.
She is an artist and so her art comes first, and then since she is a popstar she has all the looks, hair, makeup, etc. to push this into the commercial realm.
