A man who slashed another man's throat who he had met on a dating site has been jailed for 12 years.
Shane Dunn, 25, then pretended to call an ambulance while he watched his victim bleed.
The victim was only saved after his flatmate returned home and found him in a pool of blood.
Dunn, formerly of Victoria Road, Tonbridge, attacked his victim with a kitchen knife moments after they had engaged in "sexual activity together" according to police.
The pair had met on Grindr which describes itself as a site to "find local gay, bi and curious guys for dating or friends for free."
Dunn was found not guilty of attempted murder at Maidstone Crown Court but he was convinced of wounding with intent.
The attack happened in September and Dunn was sentenced yesterday (April 15).
"Had it not been for the skill of the surgeons who treated Shane Dunn’s victim, it is almost certain he would have lost his life following this vicious and wholly unprovoked attack.
I always assume people on these apps are serial killers. My Katana is too big too casually carry around with me though so I just have 911 ready to be called with a quick fingerpress.
