There's so many social platforms now where someone can share their political and social commentary that you can't log into any thing without seeing it.

I don't think all our songs need to be bombarded with it either.

a lot of people feel music is their escape from all the news, so i understand why some might not want politics in their songs

Also, you can inspire thinking and talk about world issues without being a ph.d in the field. Bringing awareness can be just as beneficial. Truth of the matter is, most of today's music is vapid and disposal. Songs like these are timeless and still referenced in this day and age by speaking to people at a deeper level than just being "relate able".
