I don't feel like it is though. For all we know she can end up just writing an entirely new record in the process of making these new tracks and then decide to wait until she can release a brand new album. I speculate that only because Marina, especially with this album, doesn't seem like the type to be interested in a re-release. Im wondering if maybe thats a labels want. She prided herself on the fact that she was being a purist with this album working with one producer, writing all the songs on her own, including no bonus tracks, etc. A re-release just seems out of character for everything she was going for this era.

On one hand I understand a general indifference towards Gold since it just pleasantly drifts along until it ends. But theres a deal of fans that keep slamming it as if its the worst song on the record and im just like....Better Than That is so much worse because its not even at least pleasant. Its ugly, dull, and without a hook. And while I like Weeds, its far duller than Gold.

I very much agree. A separate EP would be the better option, both artistically and also in terms of marketing.

I hope it's a TF/M situation and the other tracks build on the same themes but exaggerate the sound and go somewhere different. FROOT is my favourite album from her but 7 more tracks seems a bit excessive if they'll just be in the exact same vein as the 12 we already have. The album being samey is already a common complaint (although I don't get it) so hopefully she changes it up a bit for this.

ALSO where did she say 7? In the video interview for billboard she just said she was working on new songs. Never heard her say 7. Unless its something she told them after or something.
