I posted the thread because I really wanted to express my feelings on the topic.
First of all, I hope this is true, and sees the light of day (knowing Gaga's past curses, it probably won't) but who knows.
I do agree with Columbia, I wouldn't really know where the key demographic would be with something like this, but I still want her to be a part of it, just like I wanted her to be a part of Machete Kills and Sin City.
Betty Boop has iconic imagery, and is still an icon today, she is in the realm of Jessica Rabbit, people still worship Betty Boop today, and is an iconic cartoon figure, she reminds me of Marilyn Monroe (in terms of iconic imagery). So I could see it having some appeal to a certain female audience, who fill their houses with Betty Boop merchandise.
And about it being over sexualised because of Gaga's involvement, first of all, I've always viewed Betty Boop as a sex symbol (even as a child, before I even knew what that meant, I didn't view her as a usual cartoon character), I saw her as an over sexualised cartoon character, out of all the cartoon characters, she is both child-like and sexualised, which is why that comment makes literally no sense to me. Because that would be a perfect pairing in my opinion.
I hope she does it!
