Animal didn't define anything. The sound was popular for like, what, 2-3 years top? Teenage Dream gave birth to lots of copycat, and it was like... 10000 times more popular than Animal in every aspect. Katy's wigs, costumes and unmatched number of top 3 singles will AT LEAST be remembered. Can't say the same for Animal. Tik Tok was a big hit, but not enough to call the whole album defining lol.
I agree with the other things you said, though.
