Also, idk if it's UK only, but I used to pronounce Edinburgh as "edin-burg" (like burg-er), while they say "Edin-brah".

While, I'm still on the UK crap - they tend to add an R at the end of words that end with a vocal and are followed by a word starting with a vocal. The most common one I heard was "ideaR"... Now imagine what it's like when a friend of mine who couldn't really help it, did this to almost all the words... BulgariaR and AmericaR...

The Scottish/Glasgowian accent in general is like a totally different language at first...
The only example I can think of right now is "film" which is "filla-m".

I read it somewhere that people use both. It just depends on where u live. Off-en was how I learnt in school but then the English speakers where I live now always use 'off-ten'
