Look at her last album sales yet she performed everywere did concerts and released 4 videos from her album she did it for the fans not the commerical side of it she earns her multi millions from her empire and is still one of the highest paid females in entertainment shes got all the numbers 1s and multi platinum records many many times over if her music career stopped shes got that much going on in her career it dont matter to her.
Most other pop girls once there music careers dies there as good as done its not the case for JLo who still headlines major events and performs for her fans like crazy

No critically acclaimed single? Waiting For Tonight says hello. On The Floor says hello. Even Feelin So Good was heavily praised by critics.

She's also a great actress. She may not have chosen the best roles in the 00s and beyond but she has been praised in the 90s, as well as in "An Unfinished Life'" in 2004, and "El Cantante" in 2007. Having some flops because of a crappy script or a bad direction, when she has proven herself already years before, doesn't take away from her craft.

She's made a great career for herself for having talent (whether you think she has some or not is subjective), ambition, hard-work, heart, beauty, intelligence, and staying down to earth. She has an x-factor that many pop girls don't have or even try to achieve and that's a fact.

I would never disrespect Jennifer Lopez, she was my #1 fave while Britney was #2.

However, after Jenny From The Block, she took a break and her combacks since than weren't very succesful.
I mean, HDDI, GR and DIW are nice, but the rest of the singles from her comback albums were disastrous.

She managed to get back on top with Love? and On The Floor really was a hit, but trying to regain that same success again with all those Pitbull features just makes her seem very desperate and pretentious.

I guess that's what makes ATRL disrespect her.

I do hope she'll find her own way to be on top again. she's a legend and she deserves it.

She's never been ground breaking musically, but I use her! She has plenty of bops.

What comeback albums? She's only released 2 since her comeback, "Love?" and "A.K.A.".

You agreed that "Love?" did well and we can all agree that "A.K.A" underperformed. Also, she has admitted that she's not in it for the numbers anymore because she's already proved herself before, as evident.

Also, with ageism and sexism involved it's pretty obvious that she won't have the same successes that she's had in the early 00s. But either way, she continues to make music because it is her passion. People can hate on her music decisions or they can love it, but again she's sleeping well at night and has left a iconic legacy.

P.S. - Btw, HIDDI was a limited release in Europe.

it is kind of sad she is disrespected a lot. It's because people see her as very mediocre at the things she does (besides dancing) and her beauty carried her through her career (and high-profile relationships).

But even at mediocrity she still has some great singles ("If You Had My Love", "I'm Real", "Love Don't Cost A Thing", "Jenny From The Block" and so on) and she had some ok films. I don't see the need for hate but that's just me.
