Typical Muslim response when challenged. First they will call you ignorant or other insulting terms just because you don't 'get' Islam. Second they will talk about the history of Muhammad in an attempt to justify for all the current actions. I'm questioning your religion and you cannot even defend it.

The Quran has been written, re-written, studied, and re-studied for centuries. I don't even have to know arabic to know about the Quran, and throughout all the changes, not much about the 'laws' have changed either, sadly.

The terrorists themselves quote the verses in their videos with their own translation sometimes. And they are not different from what I have read. They are using this book as the word of God. The Quran do hold verses of murder, gender inequality and fear-instilling. You know I am not lying, and I know you will do anything to disprove me or go away from discussing the Quran with me. I am not blaming you, in fact, I understand you. It's hard to be a Muslim and have to defend this book, so all you have to do is look at its good side only. In fact, most Islamic countries have banned some inhumane practices of the Quran. They did this because it's not relatable in our modern age. It's considered immoral. But should Muslims really be blind to the bad side of the Quran? Are they considered bad Muslims if they only look at its good side? Are Muslim terrorists being real Muslims because they are doing what they are told? So many questions, so many contradictions, and no Muslim to answer me.

Some verses in the Quran which people would consider violent only tells a story of a certain event at that time as Islam and Muslim were being attacked, abused and killed. Them verses came in from God to give permission for Muslims to DEFEND themselves of the atrocities committed against them. Some extremists fail to understand this because of either their lack of education or a political agenda for their own benefits and that's why we see many extremist leaders with huge bank balances. The Quran is not the problem. It's all about politics. Extremists are using it to justify their own actions in a wider scale which has translated into putting the wrong ideas into people who lack education such as people in Africa or new European converts.

The most populated Muslim country is Indonesia. Do you ever hear any of these extremism acts there?! No, and the reason is because they don't have an agenda and politics are not involved in it. It's POLITICS.

Another example which shows how politics are the root of the cause. Back in the day, we used to live without labels. We were all Muslims. Nobody would care if you were a Sunni or a Shia. We didn't even have a clue of the words. Now you have both killings each other because it's politics and foreign agenda that brought it to the Middle East and it started when Saddam Hussain was killed. America wanted this conflict between the two groups so that it can concentrate on sucking down the oil down its throat.

Verses in the Quran does not mean to go and do the same because one has to look at the event it came under. There are so many verses in the bible that people would consider violent such as:

"those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them--bring them here and kill them in front of me.'"

You would not think that Jesus said that but with some more education and less ignorance, you would know the context it came under.

Christianity needs to be stopped, but killing innocent Christians is not the answer.

They have banned some rules because they are no longer relevant, and that is agreed by people who have studied Islam for decades. This is not meant to belittle the Qur'aan, but all these verses have historical context. The verses of the Qur'aan didn't come through all at once like a tour setlist of a pop girl concert, each one of them came down on the prophet with a very specific historical event.

I don't blame you since even Muslims take the Qur'aan out of context, like those terrorists whom you seem to think are a good source to back up your statements. Even Saudi Arabia where they cut off the hands of burglars and that's not even what the Qur'aan says .
