You go for a walk at the park. You see a child clearly misbehaving. Their mother gets angry and resorts to giving him a smack on the back and a slap in the face. The child starts screaming and crying but ten seconds later he redeems himself and all is good.
To me, if you hit your children, whether it be an innocent slap on the back or hitting them with a belt, it should be considered child abuse. There's absolutely no reason to hit your children to 'discipline' them. There are other ways to go about doing that.

Oh girl stop.. My parents barely hit me but I got a few butt whoopings, like I didn't go to school with bruises and bloody lips .
I really don't understand why you would hit your child. It doesn't do any good. It just hurts them and makes them hate you for it, really. There are so many other ways of gaining their respect and teaching discipline.
