This one confirms that Sony wanted Adele to cover Cat Stevens' "Where Do the Children Play" for something: https://wikileaks.org/sony/emails/emailid/121193. Sade and Bruno Mars were also suggested for it.

What makes it more interesting is that this was over a month after XL said there would be no further releases from Adele in 2014. So either:
a) This person was just talking complete smack in this speech and they had no Adele release set for the remainder of Q4 at all.
b) XL knew something that Sony didn't (but you'd think they'd catch that big of a discrepancy after a month...).
c) Sony did have a release set with Adele which has clearly been delayed or something, but XL didn't because she's not with them anymore/to as great of an extent.

Unfortunately, the files with the details of Adele's recording contract will not open; it shows that the documents were attached in the email, but you can't access them.

Yeah , almost every other email you can open the attachments . I think this is just because these were replies and not the original. Ugh

But do you think it really took them the whole year, still without coming to a contract agreement? Proposal email was 12/13, supposed release plan was from 11/14. I know it's been speculated that label issues could be to blame for these delays, but I don't think they'd be talking release plans if they didn't have a functional contract with her, and I don't think it's taken over a year now to settle one.

But keep in mind, Sony owns Columbia, which is Adele's US record label. I don't know if that would have anything to do with it or not.
