I dislike both of these songs, and thought they were both TERRIBLE choices for lead singles, but out of the two Applause is clearly the better pop song. That's what it comes down to, not tweets, promo slots, and however many albums each has under their belt - those are such typical stan excuses, no one cares about that **** besides pop forum users.

Let's not compare a generic commercial dance-pop song with FFS.

And at the end of the day, FFS will end up selling more than Applause. Sales > Charts.

I'm like stuck in the middle of all of this. Applause and FFS are pretty generic.

But in terms of sales, Applause still has the lead at 2.6M vs 1.5M in the U.S. and Applause is up for 4x Platinum with streaming and 2x Platinum at least for FFS.
