Im lost at the promo excuse wasn't 45 the lead single of Rihanna which according to the navy had build up massive hype during the past 2 years ? I think its cause Applause is a better song.

the same couldnt be said about Rihanna even tho the Navy claimed there was a hunger for her from the GP

She performed it at iTunes Fesitval, SXSW, with the muppets, she did a Wizard of Oz performance for GMA, the KIA commercial that played every ten minutes, ARTRAVE, Tour, Jingle Bell Ball.

1. Applause was literally DESIGNED to be a radio hit Listen to its generic, radio friendly production, the chorus etc etc. FFS is the complete opposite. How can you ask such a question when Applause is without any doubt one of Gagas most commercial sounding tracks (if not the most) while FFS is something Rihanna NEVER did before.
2. Gaga performed Applause on every event possible and even opened the VMA's with the song. Rihanna performed FFS ONCE.
3. FFS didn't even had a lyric video while Gaga made an event out of her lyric video
4. The "POP SUPERSTAR EMERGENY!!!!!" meltdown and early release

Um, Lady Gaga performed at the VMAs and GMAS. Combined, those have probably half the viewers of the grammys. How did she "perform" at every even possible. Also Four Five seconds is very radio friendly, it's repetitive in simple.
Applause was a bigger hit that the GP was here for, FFS is a weak song and shouldn't have been released.
If it was a better song like you all say, it would have lasted FFS everywhere and not only on the HOT100 (guess what? the only chart that counts airplay. radio its power )
