Hm, I'm not so sure about this because I was at a recent networking event where a woman I met who worked as a marketing coordinator was complaining that her vice president wouldn't take any of her ideas seriously because she was a woman.

There is still a stigma in the workplace that makes women seem like they can't accomplish as much and it's not true at all. They deserve equal pay for the same job other men already do.

What's spotty about her chart history? She managed to send all her 5 first solo albums to the summit, a feat never achieved by any woman before her. She had success both in group (second most successful female group ever) and solo (less than 15 artists in history ever achieved such a feat).

Her sales? Refer to the above : almost 70 M albums solo in her career including 31 M solo.

Her tours are forgettable yet she sells more concerts DVD than all her contemporaries and all the female singers before her. Her tours get more media coverage than her contemporaries and certified her as the best performer of her generation and maybe the best female performer ever.

Why do popstars need to have strong opinions on things? Which was Whitney's? Barbara's? Mariah's? And Bey's views on feminism made a lot of people mad and furious hence the numerous think-pieces to discredit her opinion but that's not necessary.
