I think it just comes off as out of touch when he does perform songs like New Slaves but is perpetuating capitalism in the ways that hes criticizing

No I get that, I'm not mad @ you for how you feel bc I know other ppl feel that way, but I think it's bc the way he handled it in 2013 made everything messy and since you are an old fan of him you know he's never been good @ explaining things
Something I think ppl miss in New Slaves is that he's admitting to be a victim. The whole song is based off him being a slave as well -
"I know that we the new slaves" - it's the same thing in All Falls Down, when Kanye said
"things we buy to cover up what's inside" but also saying
"than I spent 400 bucks on this, just to be like ***** you ain't up on this" or
"but I ain't even going to act holier than thou, cause **** it I went to Jacob with 25 thou, before I had a house and I would do it again cause I want to be on 106th and Park pushin a benz"
The contradiction always existed with Kanye. He calls out the bad but admits to being a victim of it at the same time, so the New Slaves thing isn't new. It makes him more human imo. But he is trying to fix it. I wish other ppl gave him a shot to prove himself like you though, I respect that!
