she barely promoted at all in the US and has sold over 1,530,000+, 2 #1 pop radio singles (both going 2x platinum), another current Top 10 pop radio single, and #1 hit, #3 hit, Top 20 hit, and a sold out tour...
But i do think she will start promoting more next era...
|
Because many people ( including me ) were thinking in her big return and we bought her music, but I can't imagine another BORING era like this one again, this is the worst era of a normal Britney.... the promotion was really a dissapoinment.
I hope she promotes more her new proyect, but I'm sure if she do the same promotion the next time her album isn't going to sell half of CIRCUS is selling.

I wouldn't say "half", but I - sadly - have to agree with you.

So on the official web site are stills from the upcoming animated video for Kill the Lights. I wonder if they'll try to promote the song at all or just have the video for fans and only push Radar.
|
The KTL video was made due to a fan contest. It's not a single, so it certainly won't be promoted as one. Radar is the 4th single.

Exactly. She also needs to come with an album that's better than "Circus", that album is so 'eh' now...

Her routines and performances have gotten 10x better than they were for her promo ones last year, her recent ones definitely arnt lackluster. She is much more confident.
And she will promote when she is fully ready...hello she was in a hospital just over a year ago, she was mentally ill and still recovering from that and recovering from what the press and papz have done to her....give her time....
fans are very greedy, be patient, wait for her to be ready...

Her weight is not an issue to me. I thinks he is sexy but she obviously doesn't maintain her weight ,look at pics for november/december and now. Her routines have not changed since the beginning besides the few "dance" breaks added. If she is not ready for a TV performance, why can she perform for 90 mins in front of thousands of people for 2 months. I am very interested to see the next era and see what the "real" britney has to bring to the table without the conservatorship. If she does little to no promo with the next era she just really doesn't care. I certainly hope she brings it though! Like I said previously, I love Britney, I just need something different. It's all so boring. I hope she makes the changes they were talking about to the Europe tour.

Circus was meant to be a damage control era and it served its purpose. Those should've been your expectations from the beginning. No more, no less. Look at the brightside, too. Her second #1 of her career, radio loves her back, countless of records broken, soldout tour, successful album, no more zombie music videos, britney being on stage for more than 5 mins without going nuts, pretty photoshoots, no more gas station trips, no more Us weekly covers, and most importantly, Britney getting her **** together.
I cannot predict the future but I'm sure her next album won't be as rushed. All you have to do is wait and see what she's up to. I assume the success and the general public acceptance of the Circus era would only boost her confidence to become the busy Britney you're talking about. Whether she still wants to be that Britney or not, time will tell.

So true, we have to wait but if I have to add something is that we are waiting for an amazing perfomance since 2004 ( 5 years ago ) not a good one..we need a fantastic perfomance of the princess of pop.
Next era we will be more critics with her.

My take is Circus was NEVER going to be a regular promoted album. It's ridiculous some of you believed that just because she was "better" and seemed "happy" that she was going to go back to 2003/2004 times where she was promoting non-stop and consistantly working. You'd have to be crazy yourself to believe that. Like Mazen said, Circus is a recovery album. She did more promotion than Blackout, went on another successful tour, and regained popularity in the charts.
That's what JIVE planned. They wanted to see if the public still wanted her. Guaranteed, if "Womanizer" had been a moderate success or even worse a flop, they would've decided the public is through with Britney Spears. However, it turned out to be a huge success. They also did the For The Record so the media could get one last answer for her problems/behavior.
So now with the next album, it will be clear. She's still relevant, media will be over her life drama and what happened 2007/2008, and she can get back to music work.

There's no point promoting albums anymore anyway. Some of you haven't got it yet. Tours are the future. People now release albums and singles to have an excuse to tour not to promote the albums and singles.

Loves it!
Methinks next album we will see a more raw and emotional side of Brit.

The next record will be experimental. I hope she drops Bloodshy & Avant honestly. I love their sound, but I'm getting sick of Jive relying on them for another techno dance track to be a hit (Toxic, Piece of Me, Radar), even though I love all of those songs. I'll allow them if they give her some more "Unusual You" sounds.

I think you are missing a point, if she doesn't show her face on tv or magazines then she is not going to sell tour tickets neither, this time she is selling because it was her return to the stage, next time she will have to pomote her tour on Ellen, Letterman, etc etc

"She is not going to sell tour tickets if she doesn't show her face"?
Stupidest thing ever. Just when I thought you couldn't be any more of an idiot... Bravo! Xtian.
She sells because she's Britney. Period. And stop with the "promo thing" . LET IT GO. Damn!

Ok, then she doesn't have to promote her new poyect, according to you she will have the same successful of this era doing almost nothing......WRONG!!!!
Every year people will lost interest about her if she doesn't do anything for us, some tv perfomances, some magazines, interviews, etc.
And let me alone!!!! it's my ****ing opinion if you are happy with a lazy Britney then be happy xD I'm not a medicore fan.

LMAO at Britney not selling tour tickets from not promoting.
She could sell tour tickets while in a coma.

She only needs to perform once to showcase the new style of performance. Myléne's tour sold out right after she announced it. Then she performed at the NRJ AFTER her show was sold out. As I said, singers that can sell out arenas only release new albums to tour again.
Obviously, if you are a Beyoncé you need to promote because you perform to half-empty arenas.
