I can agree with that, but Gaga had a larger vocal about it than her contemporaries. So that why she deserves the credit Pitchfork are giving her over the other pop girls like Katy Perry, P!nk and Ke$ha who put out similarly self-esteem anthems at the time.
Well, obviously. The other girls (except pink) are not advocates and do not care.
