Now the lyrics are amazing but the production is so empty and the vocals are too flat. Maybe I need another listen, again. I need to get what it is about that record.

I feel like Fear Fun is a more compelling listen, because if you don't really listen to the lyrics on ILYHB, you miss the magic.
It's no wonder they made another version
