I think the problem with the idea of straight people coming out is that there are still straight people who mock, victimise, target, etc.., gay people, so to adopt something that is so integral to gay culture/being gay would kind of be the ultimate insult, because gay people struggle with it and deal with the consequences of coming out every day. Maybe it would make sexuality less important, who knows, but... I don't agree with the idea of straight people "coming out". (And coming out of what exactly? Heterosexuality is still seen as the norm. An innocent until proven guilty tea.)
