Before Gaga smashed, they were making remixes of pop songs for the clubs....afterwards, they were actually producing actual radio hits.

Gaga was certain ahead of the curve but so were the Black Eyed Peas. I'd give them more credit too in regards to the rise of DJ's, since they worked WITH actual DJ's for THE END.

I think it is fair to trust the word of those in the industry who have seen for themselves the benefits of Gaga's (and others') work. It's nice to have these claims founded.

It was actually the Black Eyed Peas who really brought EDM into mainstream at the time. Gaga had huge hits with it, and definitely deserves some of the credit, but "I Gotta Feeling" was what really made the most impact tbh.

No, not really. BEP had a huge dance hit, and so did Rihanna, before Gaga, but neither of those acts were as big as Gaga when she debuted with her dance music. The reason Gaga is credited is not because she was the first, rather because she was the biggest. Now don't get me wrong, IGAF was absolutely huge, but that was all it was. With Gaga, her dance music wasn't the only thing that blew up, she did too. Gaga captured the zeitgeist and caused everyone to turn their heads and look to see what she was doing in order to follow. Gaga was everywhere and captured the public's interest like no artist had since Britney Spears. BEP's hit sold more than Gaga's but it did NOT have the impact as Gaga's.
