Hmm, so YouTube's script just searches for songs regardless of Category. If it's not credited by the uploader it won't count. That must be why the Budweiser commercial didn't count. I always thought it had to be under that but there's a separate field for the music itself.

I know. "Riptide" has been on the chart for 41 weeks, still has a bullet, and looks safe from falling into recurrency at least for two or three more weeks.. I hate that the song's weeks are divided over two chart years, as otherwise we could see the airplay/download/streaming points accumulate and see where the song would rank at the end of the year compared to songs with higher peaks but shorter chart lives.

Does Billboard even have SOP on youtube streaming rules? Or we're just gonna keep guessing?

The points are all extremely close this week.. Honestly this is going to be one of the hardest weeks to predict. Fast 7 is also giving GDFR streams and sales, Shut Up And Dance/Sugar have had severe promo. Uptown Funk/Thinking Out Loud are falling hard.. and Earned It/Trap Queen are gaining even harder.

The top 3 here is a given though.

How about Somebody? Could it be returning to top 10? It has 120 radio AI, 2x that of Chains.

Sorry, for some reason I forgot to add Somebody in the contender for #10. It's got the highest chance tbh.

But these "viral" videos will not make up for SYA's high-end sales and it's already got a Voice performance video to add to the streams from the original video, PLUS a recently uploaded solo version with just Charlie (which I'm sure counts).

I agree "See You Again" will be #1 next week. As for "Sugar", its promo did very little for the song. "Shut Up And Dance" will continue to rise. "Uptown Funk", while it has fallen out of Number One, won't fall fast, and neither will "Thinking Out Loud". Songs as big as "Uptown Funk" also have a lot of longevity, like "Happy" and "Blurred Lines". Even though people seemed sick of "Happy", and "Blurred Lines" both still fell slowly.

The Billboard Podcast tonight was talking about how even as big as "Uptown Funk" has been, it hasn't burned out anything like Happy or BL had by this time, and remember those songs still stuck around for months after leaving Number One. Hits Daily Double said the same thing in an article talking about UF's sales, and how there has yet to be a burnout for the song like you normally see for the hugest hits.

This is the actual all-time longevity champ for any version of Billboards Top 100 Singles Charts, which date back to 1940. "One Sweet Day" actually came up one week short of this record. In 1947, "Near You" by Francis Craig & His Orchestra spent 17 weeks at Number One on the Billboard Top 100 Singles/Songs Chart. Remember, the Billboard Hot 100 dates back to 1958, then the "Rock Era" dates back to 1955, but Billboard's Top 100 Singles/Songs Chart dates all the way back to 1940. That is why I wanted "Uptown Funk" to reach 18 weeks, but that did not happen.

It's so tacky that all of these UF viral videos are showing up. So sad.

We had a bit of a break in songs making it one full year on the chart, but Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" reaches 52 weeks this week, as it falls from 39 to 42 without a bullet. That may not seem like much compared to the 60 and even 70 week Hot 100 runs that wrapped up within the last year, but SWM being the first song to reach the 52 week mark in quite some time is worth noting.

Ready for SIO and BS to get 52+ wks.
