I don't remember the 1st one specifically, but I do remember the video tapes, and I remember actually finding some of them quite horrifying, and I did think it was one of the better thriller/horror films of recent years, but it still didn't stick out to me, to the point where I don't even remember the scary guy they keep showing.
The first half of the trailer seemed a little whack, but the last 30 seconds got really good, so I'm actually kinda looking forward to it.
I'm concerned about the constant appearance of Bagul and the murdered kids. It was done subtly/perfectly in the first one, but even just in this trailer I feel they're overbearing. Like the kids showing Dylan the tapes? Or him showing up in the flashlight scene. Swear to God if that turns into a fight or something. Gonna feel like when The Ring girl and Brenda fought in Scary Movie 3.
High hopes, though. The first is still flawless, and this seems it'll have its moments.
